6 years ago last night (between the 5th and the 6th) I had a stroke. By the healing Grace and Mercy of God, I have completely recovered. I would also like to thank the medicos that worked on me as well as my friends and family. My Son-in-law is a N.P. in a neuro practice, he told me at the time that 95% of the time, the type of stroke I had is fatal.

Like most people I have reasons to live for. Some of mine are the 5 grandkids, they need a grandpa!

Today I was bicycling with a friend when I realized what day it was. We did 25.7 miles today, and that put me over 600 miles for the season.

Heart attacks and strokes sideline many people who live through them, I glad I had the chance to fight through the limitations and be able to serve god for more years than I thought I had left!

On July 8, 2016 I had a heart attack while in my cardiologist's office undergoing an EKG. The hospital luckily was a block and a half away. The heart surgeon was on duty awaiting my arrival. In no time at all a procedure followed to install a stint in my main artery that was 100% clogged closed. An echo-cardiogram later revealed that my heart was only pumping 25% of the blood each pump instead of the normal 55%. My doctor put me on physical therapy for twelve weeks. If my heart's performance didn't improve to at least 35%, he would recommend that I have a defibrillator surgically placed in my chest. I am really opposed to having a foreign device in my chest.

Today, I went for a check-up and echo-cardiogram. My cardiologist was all smiles when he showed me the results, that old banger was pumping 50%. Now I need to buy myself a new toy as a reward.
