Like most of my reloading gear, my swager has been in climate-controlled storage for over 10 years. Had it out recently to set up for GI 5.56. No rust anywhere, and it was brand[new when I stored it.

The pin on which the case locater rod rotates in an arc is firmly stuck. I can tap firmly with a soft hammer on the lever, but the pin will not rotate more than a few degrees, with great difficulty, and I doubt that the lever will last long under this treatment.

I have tried adding thin oil to the ends of the pin, leaving it sitting overnight in various positions, and light tapping on the pin ends, but no improvement.

I removed from the underside the hollow screw holding the detent ball and spring, added a few drops of light oil, and let it sit overnight. No change.

Very likely it is one of those dope-slap DUH! things, but it escapes me so far. Can somebody point out what obvious remedy I have missed?

Remove the set screw, remove the e-clip on one side and knock out the pivot pin and clean it and it's hole in the frame and cam. I will put money on you will find rust!

Removed screw, spring, and detent ball.
Removed case locator pin.
With 1/2" round brass punch and ball-pein hammer, whacked pin out. This took several stout whacks; pin was very resistant. No rust at all; I think the old lube had solidified into glue.

Thank you, gentlemen!
Lubed, re-assembled, and voila! all good.
