Haven't bought the car yet, but the ones I'm looking at are about 30 miles away, and I'm not trading in my current ride.
Don't have anyone near that can give me a ride, and not even sure if there is a taxi or uber in my area.
Strange situation I'm in.

Make Auto Delivery part of the Deal!

If the dealer want the sale; home delivery should not be a problem.
While his driver is delivering make sure that the transfer of title and registration is done in YOUR county.

If dealer will not agree - see next dealer.

Dealer has his policy - You have your policy - His money is in your pocket!

Ha! My son just did two weeks ago. My other son and I had to drive up to the dealer to get his old car. A good son would have let me drive his new truck. LOL

You can ride a bike 30 miles and through it in the trunk. I drove a friend 150 miles one way to pick up a truck. No big deal in the west.

Years back I had a dealer pick me up at the house and take me to the dealership to pick up my new car. I was not trading one in and the person that was going to take me to the dealership got sick suddenly. Called the dealership and a 1/2 hour later was picked up.

About 30 years ago I bought a car from a dealer located a couple hours away. Took a Greyhound bus to that town and a salesman picked me up at the depot and drove me to the dealership. Last summer I bought a car in Minnesota and had it trucked to my home in Washington state. I still saved a bundle compared to buying the car at home.

If they want to sell you a car, they'll figure it out.

If your location was in your profile you might find a fellow member to work out a ride and maybe a trip to the range.

In Washington State the deal is not irreversible until the car is in the customer's possession off the dealer's property. If you pay cash then drive your old car home leaving the new purchase on the lot you can back out of the sale. Guess what the salesperson is going to do if you tell them you have no choice other than getting the car you arrived in back home.

I did it once on a private party deal. I paid a coworker to drive me back to the location. If you do a deal, I always take the newly purchased car when you buy it and leave your car there locked up. I don’t trust leaving the new car at the purchase point in case they still have a key and it disappears.

My Son in Law sells Toyotas. He delivers (or one of his drivers) all the time. It's just a part of the routine.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

I had the same type of situation. Car died and I was driving a rental. I ended up buying the new car but didn't have anyone to help me with vehicle logistics. What happened, I drove the rental car to the return location. The salesman drove my new vehicle there too. A third person from the car dealer drove a third vehicle to the rental location. We all meet. I returned the rental, got into my new car and the salesman got into the car with third person and they went back to the dealership. All worked out and everyone happy.

Friends, neighbors, relatives? Call the Dealership and ask if they can pick you up. Uber, pay a kid who lives near you..... Plenty of possibilities.
