Stupid question, but ever buy a car with no way to get it home?

I have to opine that all advise suggesting you arrive at the dealer without a car to leave in is bad advise. That puts you in a weak position negotiating. The smart thing is to show the salesman the currency you are offering then not hang around long. Some times when you drive off they'll follow you. Guess who's in the stronger negotiating position after you stop.

I bought a new Peterbilt a few years ago just outside of Milwaukee. I flew to Chicago, took a bus to Milwaukee, and the salesman picked me up. The most fun was driving it through Chicago at rush hour. Only took 24 hours to get home to MA.

I live (obviously) in TX bought a F150Lightning a few yrs back in NH. Took a flight Manchester. Dealer was in Derry. They picked me up at AP. I drove truck back to Texas. They want to sell car they will make accomidations

You could have taken a flight directly to Derry on Derry Air.

Yep the dealer will come get you to sign the papers and get your money. I know a lady that the dealer is letting her drive a dealer loaner pick up till a car comes in that she will buy. Now that is really going all out for a sale.

A car? Heck I just bought a new Harley. I been know to "hitch hike" a little "back in the day". Regards "Big E"

Years ago when the lottery first came out my neighbor won the top prize, it was 50K back then, car salesmen were lined up down the street, trying to sell him a car. [emoji1]
