I think this will be my first post on this forum. A couple years ago, i bought s SW9VE. I own about 6 other 9mm's, but I find the Sigma slowly taking the most Fav., and most shot and carried spot. It's even pushed out a HiPower practical, for my LEO duty gun. Love the Sigma....

I know they made a few Sigmas, in .357Sig. I don't think they currently offer 357Sig.

I've been wanting a .357Sig, for some time now. No real reason, just think it's kinda neat.( I also reload, and cast my own boolits).

I was reading on another thread, about a 9mm barrel, fitting in a 40 slide, on a 40 frame, and a poster said it fit, but the mag well was the wrong size, and the extracter, breechface would be wrong.... So...If the 9mm barrel, and the 40 barrel have the same O.D. , and will fit on the same frame, would it be possible to Simply re-chamber a 9mm barrel, to .357sig, and use it on the 40 frame, with the 40 Mags and 40 recoil spring?

I seem to remember someone doing this with EAA witness pistols, about 10-15 years ago..

P.S.. I don't know for sure that the 40 and 9 have the same O.D. as I dont own a .40 sigma..

It's been done, and posted on this forum several years ago. The poster had all the right tools, and was an experienced gunsmith, and said it took him 6 hours careful work, much of which was fitting the barrel to the breech face, plus rechambering. Including the cost of the Sigma barrel, if you have to pay a gunsmith hourly rates for this, it would be cheaper to buy an M&P .357 new.

Well, Thanks for the reply's. As much as I like the Sigma, I have to remember it can be found for 299.00, with a rebate sometimes.

I guess that would also explain the lack of aftermarket support for the sigma, ( Its a sub 300.00 gun, why bother?).
