I have a Sparrow sitting "where the sun don't shine" right now - in my dealers' safe. I plan to "visit" it this weekend. I dismissed the Spectre because the F3 transfer was taking forever...and he just so happened to get a Sparrow in stock. F4 mailed yesterday...the wait is soooooooooo obnoxious.

I am going to post more pics in this thread, but check this out: the way it's shown in the picture, with the stock fully collapsed, it measures exactly 24" end to end!

I bought a Sparrow earlier this week. Local dealer filed the F4 the day after the F3 was filed, so not really any additional wait. He matched the OTD price I would've gotten from SS Direct.

The Sparrow will join three Spectre IIs and two Warlock IIs in the safe, but will spend most of it's time on the PS90 I just bought and am having converted to an SBR...19.1" OAL with a 10.4" barrel.

Didn't know you could file the F4 before the F3 was approved. Silencer Shop wont do that. I'm still waiting on my F3 for my Saker, before they will send off the F4

You're not really supposed to do that. This is a quote from an NFA Dealer/Manufacturer on another forum regarding what happens if a form 4 comes up for approval before the form 3 does:

"It has happened more often than it should and SOT's have lost their license for it. Its a game of Risk, most likely you will be fine but if not you can lose everything."

In the past it was hard to believe that a form 3 would take longer than a form 4. Right now even though over all wait times seem to be coming down, form 3 approvals actually seem to be taking longer, and have been somewhat closer to form 4 in approval time.

As mentioned above, it can cause an issue, but usually doesn't. If the dealer does it without asking, I don't complain. I've had three different dealers in NC do it without much prodding. If I'd used them for my Saker 762 and Octane 9, I'd probably already have them. Bought them in late April, and they went Pending 7/24. If they had May pending dates, the wait would possibly be over.

SS won't do it with paper forms, but I think they said they submitted both at the same time when EForms was available. Never ordered one from them using EForms, so I can't confirm that statement.

(Sick doesn't even begin to define it...11 F4s currently in the system. Waiting for a PS90 to get here next week so I can eFile an F1.)
