I didn't save to website so I can't give sources. The article stated that two congressman sent a letter to the CEO of Subway asking them to not allow open carry in any of their stores. They even want to stop open carry even where the state is an open carry. I want to say the state is Virginia.

I recently went to our local Albertsons Grocery store and bumped into a dude that was open carry in a tee shirt. I asked if he was a cop and he said "no, I simply carry for obvious reasons"

I asked the store manage if they had a corporate policy on CCW issues and he said "Nope, not at this time and it's never been a problem"

Eh, they're not bad. At least they prepare the sandwiches right in front of you instead of in the back where they do who-knows-what to it.

Having said that, in the last year I only went to Subway because it was the closest food place (not gonna call it a restaurant) to my workplace. And there's one literally around the corner from my home and I've yet to visit it.

I remember reading about Subway's unusual franchise practices, which I won't go into. I doubt I have eaten more than a couple of their sandwiches. There's one inside the WalMart near me, but I seldom see anyone eating there.

Same here. I used to stop at them for lunch back when I was doing summer motorcycle trips. You could get a decent chopped spinach salad with grilled chicken and fresh vegetables. Consistent quality level from store to store. Find them everywhere.

There’s a bunch of them out this way.l
Lots of them in truck stops, gas station convenience stores, etc.
Handy for quick non-burger lunch.
Did you guys know there are Amish folks up in Southern CO?
Last fall was leaving the Alamosa, CO Walmart.
They got a Subway just inside the front door.
There were about 10 Amish Teenage Girls there apparently getting a Sub.

OK, they are not really that bad. Have eaten them many times, Bread is fresh. Just we have so many good Italian Delis around here. Heck even Publix makes a better sandwich

I spent six weeks one summer as a Sandwich Artist in the mid-90s before landing a gig waiting tables at a country club.

I don't really care for the food. There's nothing bad about it, but nothing particularly good either. Best thing on the menu is the white chocolate macadamia cookies.

Well I stopped using them when they started stocking meat of which I do NOT want mixed in around my food. Their loss and I am sure they dont care. Wouldnt surprise me if it wasnt VA. We have gone down the drain as far as the political scene goes. We have had open carry in VA for over 400 years.

I had a similar experience at a Sam's Club in Phoenix not long ago. A guy was open carrying a Glock while shopping there. I asked him which model he had, and he told me it was a Glock 19 2nd generation (9mm). I told him that the Glocks have a great reputation for reliability, and that I owned a couple - a 21 and a 30 (.45 ACP). Just a couple of gun cranks exchanging remarks - no big deal.

Having said that, I would also have to say here that I'm not a great fan of open carry except in the field, because the gun is obvious and could be easy to grab...

However this is America, and as long as a person is doing no harm or potential harm through safety concerns to others, he or she should be free under the Second Amendment to follow his or her inclinations with respect to carry options, unless prohibited by law in certain states. Arizona is NOT one of "those" states.

For the record, I carry, but not so anyone would notice.

Man, ain't that the truth. And the meat is about as fresh and "gourmet" as eating wet cardboard. No thanks.

I used to do a lot of business with Subway for my elderly M-I-L. It was convenient (if not gourmet) and certainly better than her eating donuts. Then I found a much better place (cheaper too!) and I haven't stepped foot in a Subway since.

Want a good sub.....go to Jersey Mike's.

I hear they are very good, but the prices in our local Jersey Mike's are out of this world expensive. Way too rich for this poor old retiree on Social Security. You need a damn good job and big income to eat at Jersey Mike's... or, alternatively, a fat government pension.

Our Firehouse Subs was also pretty good, but crazy expensive for what little you got. The local sub places put them out of business rather easily. Cheaper and twice the size won the day.

So they try to keep everybody happy. Classic corporate response. Nothing they can, need, or want to enforce.

I like Jersey Mike's better than Subway. My go-to was the Big Kahuna (when I ate meat).

Still eat at Firehouse Subs every now and then. Also like them better than Subway.

Lenny's is good, too. I like their hot pepper relish. I think Jersey Mike's started offering it in response to Lenny's. Again, better than Subway.

And yeah, those subs can get expensive, so I don't eat there a lot. One reason I joined their rewards programs. After so many purchases, you get a free sandwich, as well as a free sandwich on your birthday.

Haven't tried any local sub shops yet. The last city I lived in had a really good local shop, but I believe it closed down. Good sandwiches, hearty meat portions, and they were one of the few places in town that carried Hank's root beer.

Man, I just had lunch and now I'm starting to get hungry again.

I think that's what happened with Starbucks. Initially, they said that they would go by the local laws of their shops. Then they started a national policy of requesting patrons to not openly carry guns in their shops in response to CA "activists" carrying rifles there. I don't know if they've changed their stance since then. I don't really frequent their stand-alone stores, but I will occasionally get something if I stop at a store with a Starbucks counter.
