suggestions for a PPC revolver

THERE IS NO MORE BILL DAVIS NOR RON POWERS. AT THE N.P.S.C. AT LEAST 90% OF THE TOP

I just listed a Bill Davis PPC gun in the classified section. When I shot PPC, I used a Ron Powers so this gun has VERY LOW round count.

The K38 Masterpiece is an excellent PPC revolver. Used ones can be found, but not cheaply. It is a K-frame with standard sights. You can use it to shoot multiple disciplines. Most of my PPC was with a Les Baer 1911, but I'd regularly shoot my friend's borrowed K38 and was always astonished at how shootable it was.

I have a 5" N-frame 625 and wonder how well it would serve as a PPC gun. The .45 cuts a much bigger hole than a .38 and the gun fits me hand very well. Maybe I'll give it a try next season.

Does anyone know what screws are used with or supplied with a Bomar Rib? I have a PPC gun (pre model 19) I picked up recently with a full length BoMar rib, 6 inch bull barrel. There are supposed to be three hex head screws holding the rib on the barrel/frame, but one of them is missing. I'd like to replace it.

Was a standard screw size/thread used with these?

Thanks for any info you PPC guys might have. The gun is a superb shooter, very accurate.

I shot PPC for many years with an N frame 27 with a heavy barrel and rib. After the L frame came out I used a 586 for some time and shot as well with it as I did the heavy gun and did not have to do anything with it. If you are just getting started, you can't go wrong with an L frame. It is accurate, has great balance and what I prefer over the k frames is that the cylinder is larger ain diameter and the speedloaders work easier and slicker. You will shoot a lot of ammo to imporve and when you get to the point you need some extra accuracy or want something better, you will have a good idea of what you like and dislike by then. You will also get to check out other's equipment as well. Good luck.
