Suggestions for a set of sights compatible with my M&P CORE?

So I'm starting to upgrade my M&P9 CORE (just added APEX flat faced trigger) and I'm wanting to add a new set of sights as well.

So I run a set of Dawson Precision fiber optic sights and my PPQ and I really like them but looking to see what else is out there that can be installed on the CORE?

The rear of the slide is of course different then any other M&P as the sight is very small and contained to the far rear of the slide to make room the optic.

I have been recommended other option like Trijicon night sights with orange ring, etc, etc. ... BUT they do not make a rear sight that is compatible with the CORE's slide.

So .... And suggestions that are available for the CORE that I should be aware of???

AND also one side question ... If I'm not yet going to run a RDS would you still recommend adding tall sights (that can cowitness with sight when added) or is a regular height sight perfectly fine? What would you recommend for IDPA type target shooting?
Thanks so much :)

Compatible iron sites for the CORE are hard to come by. It is my understanding that Dawson Precision will make Tritium Night Sights for the S&W M&P CORE. I assume you have the tall sights that come with the CORE. I think you would better understand what you need if you add a red dot first before making a decision. Yes I would get sites that co-witness. You don't have to hunt for the red dot that way. At the high end Leupold and Trjicon make red dots that will co-witness with the tall sights. At the low end Burris Fastfire2 and JPoint will co-witness. I have the Burris and it works great. No bells and whistles, but it is nice.

I had the Fastfire 3 and it did not co-witness with the stock sights and did not care for it .... is the Fastfire 2 lower and have a slimmer base?

I still think tough at this point if I am not gonna run a RDS that I should just got with regular height sights.

Yes! it does co-witness beautifully.

Do you know if the FastFire 2 is slimmer in profile and doesn't sit up as high as the FastFire 3???

cause my FastFire 3 looked Nothing at all like you pics ... you can just barely get a sliver of the top front sight with that RDS

I shoot IDPA as well and for my CORE I switched the ported barrel to a KKM (keeps it ESP legal) and switched the sites to the standard height Dawson sites. I will never put an optic on the gun thus my decision. Dawson does have a set of sites that do cowitness as well....

The fastfire2 does not sit up as high and that probably has to do with the the battery being inserted underneath rather than on top with the fastfire3. Search the internet as this is a known difference between the 2 and the 3.

Interesting ... I was not aware of that. I may check out the the II if I ever decide to slap on an RDS one day again. Thanks

Any Pics of your CORE with this barrel and how it looks with the standard height Dawson sights? Did you go with the black rear and FO front set they sell?

If I do this I am now gonna be looking into what size I want to run. Their CORE set is a .125 rear and .100 front.
Not sure if I want a .100 slim front on a long 5" slide (I run 125x125 on my 4" PPQ and it's great).
Thinking about going with the .125 rear and then the .115 front FO blade. I think this will give a nice gap on both sides being a 5" slide with a longer sight radius but still not so slim with too much air on both sides you know.

Curious what most found to be best for precision and also fast paced target acquisition on a 5" slide??? (size of rear and front that is).

Thanks :)
