Anxious to get a Shield 9MM or 40 (I'll work out the details later). I have a old Glock 23 with less than 100 rds fired. I am looking into selling the Glock to pick up the Shield.

See the gun ads in the forum but was wondering if you guys have another way or experience for selling your weapons at a good profit for yourself and a good purchase for the buyer?

If you're looking to make a "good" profit on a used Glock, you're dreaming.

Take list price for a new one, subtract 20%, then put it in the consignment cabinet at your LGS. If it sells, you'll recoup that price (minus what you owe the LGS -- usually 10%) which you can then put into something else.

You want to make a profit on used firearms? Invest in vintage Colts and pre-lock S&Ws, as well as certain older lever guns and pre-ban semi-auto rifles.

None of the gun shops here do consignment sales for 10%...they are all 30%.

You can list the gun for sale on Glock Talk, here, other gun forums, Gunbroker, Armslist, and so on. There are a number of local groups on Facebook where people routinely list guns for sale. There may be FB groups in your location as well.

If you're in PA then go to pafoa.org and sell it in their classifieds section. Just make sure you read the rules before posting it in there.

Your Glock 23 with less than 100 rds fired is probably a very good gun.
You might want to hang onto your Glock and buy the Shield if you feel
you have to have one unless you can only afford one gun. Read the
semi auto forums. Some dissatisfaction with the Shield it seems.

You could sell the glock outright for around 4 bills, should be enough to cover the shield......I would post it in armslist for trade, you may get some interesting trade offers!
