Suggestions? The best bourbon for one of the most important toasts of a man's life...

As difficult as it is for me to believe, my son recently turned 25. It is amazing how much he has seen and done in such a short time, including almost 6 years in USAF and 3 combat tours in Afghanistan (he just got back in September). Now he is taking another big step - next Saturday he is getting married to a wonderful young woman, the love of his life.

Anyway, his grandfather and I will have a little time alone with him before the wedding and I'd like to bring along something special to celebrate his accomplishments, his marriage, and life in general. We are a bourbon drinking family, Maker's Mark is the go to favorite for family gatherings and Wild Turkey Rare Breed comes out for birthdays. I know that there are some folks here that are also fond of bourbon so I'm looking for suggestions for something really special to mark the occassion. Help me out - what would be your choice for that once in a lifetime toast?

Jack Daniels is a Tennessee Whiskey. Good stuff, but not a bourbon.

It's the moment more than the choice of drink. Jim Beam suits my taste as well as any and better than most of the top shelf brands I've tried.

Booker's, Knob Creek Single Barrel, Wild Turkey Rare Breed are the top three higher dollar Bourbons on my list.

Good all around Bourbon at a ridiculously good price, Evan Williams black label, Elijah Craig and Ezra Brooks. All are half the price of Wild Turkey 101 or Jim Beam Black Label and can hold their own neat. Make a good start for a Manhattan too!

Hard to find but worth the trouble. 11 to 13 years old and smooth as silk. This Tennessee boy thinks anything Jack Daniels makes is for the tourists.
