I had no idea this company existed until I saw a deal on another forum. I hit their website and the phone number clicked. Summit City is Fort Wayne. That's about 45 minutes from me. I was in town for work reasons today so I called them. He happened to have exactly one box of 158gr .358 SWC's so I dropped in and picked them up. They look great but pretty is as pretty does. Tony seems like a solid guy and I'll be loading some up this week. I just chrono-ed some 158gr X-Treme's over 4 grains of Win244 so I'll do the same load with these bullets. If the weather is halfway decent this weekend I'll get chrono results and try and shoot groups with both.

He's got some nice looking equipment and as stated the bullets look good. I'll post up results when I have them.

Took some pictures this morning. These are "new style" SWC's that have no lube grove and a beveled bottom. They are setup for coating so that should be good. They've got a nice crip grove that I'm hoping matches up with where I've loaded the X-Treme bullets. Apparently he did a run of black ones for Halloween and that's what he had left. Normal color is red.

My calipers put them right at 0.358" just as advertised.

I'll be loading up a few tonight but the earliest I'll shoot them will be this weekend.

ETA - I managed to sneak home a little early and loaded up a batch of ten.

Here one is compared to an X-Treme loaded to the cannelure:

They loaded smoothly and I didn't have any coating shave off. I'll shoot some this weekend.

I loaded up 10 more as I switched from a Lee to an RCBS seating die. The rain should clear up tomorrow morning and I should be able to shoot over the chrono and do some groups.

Good luck with the new bulets and the rain stopping.

In Reno at 7:22pm we have 4" of new snow and it is still coming down.

Ohio 28 .......... Georgia 24 at the start of the 3rd quarter.
Happy new year, everyone.

Went to the range and soaked my feet….. Just got back. As it was 46 degrees and pretty soggy no blued guns today. Took a pair of Smiths. 3.25" 66-5 and a 2.5" 66-7. Here's my chrono results versus the X-Treme plated I loaded earlier:

158gr X-treme/Summit SWC
4gr Win244, 1.46" COAL, Remington SP

3.25" 66-5 X-Treme: 760fps
3.25" 66-5 Summit: 815fps
2.5" 66-7 X-Treme: 715fps
2.5" 66-7 Summit: 770fps
2" Magnum Carry X-Treme: 649fps

The 2" Magnum Carry numbers were from my previous chrono session. It didn't come out today. I want to re-shoot it as those numbers seem low.

Groups looked good and honestly I couldn't really see a difference at the 10 yards I was shooting at. 4 grains of Win 244 is a max 38 Special load per Hodgdon and it feels "right".

I'm more than happy with these and will put the X-Treme's on the shelf for now. I'll save them for 357.

Nice range rounds! You're at max per Hodgdon's std velocity 38 Spl data, but those 357 Mag revolvers won't blink a bit. Fun loads with these 158 gr bullets is 6.0 grs Unique using 357 Mag cases.
