Super Blue Moon

Haven't had any clouds around here for weeks, so the view was good last night. I was pushing out my trash bin about 1 am and the moon nearly blinded me. I don't recall ever seeing it that bright. But then, I've just had cataract surgery, so everything looks super bright these days. 
My wife and I.......
... finished up our trivia game last night and walked to the car and both of us were agag and aghast at the MOON! I do believe that is the superest, super moon I've ever seen.

By the way, anybody know how to turn the picture around once it's posted or why it does this? Was right side up in my photos.

Did I miss something? The last full moon was July 21.
I always thought a blue moon was 2 full moons in the same month,

Apparently this most recent event is correctly termed a "Seasonal Blue Moon" meaning it is the occurrence of four full moons in a single season (spring, summer, fall and winter) instead of the usual three.
A typical blue moon is, indeed, the second of two full moons occurring withing the same month. That did not happen here.
In addition to the seasonal blue moon this most recent full moon happened when the moon is the closest distance to earth in its orbit. This gives the moon an appearance approximately 14% larger than usual.
