Don't let anyone tell you the "Billboard" 1911 won't shoot. I took the SW1911 out for a little practice this morning and this makes 200 rounds through it so far with absolutely no failures and some fne groups with several bullet/powder combinations. These were at ten yards laying the pistol across a rest...wish I could shoot like that off hand. They didn't have my fasvorite targets today so had to get the smaller one. The bullseye is 2 inches. Most groups were less than 1 1/2" c-c with one opening it to 1 3/4" but one group was just 3/4".

Universal and 231 are a favorite. I was surprised at the good group with HS-6 and the 200 gr TMJ SWC Speer bullet-the only jacketed bullet I tried today.

I frankly don't know of anyone here, or can recall reading anyone say, that the first year billboard SW1911's can't shoot.
In fact, since they were made that first year with high quality parts and fitted fairly well, one would imagine they shoot as well or better than anything since!

I have no complaints about mine for sure.

My only complaint about mine is that someone else now owns it...I sold it and have more than a few moments of regret since.

S&W 1911

I have the Pro Series (the .45 version) with the Hi Viz sights. I put 1000 rounds thru it in 3 sessions in the last week. No malfunctions, one ragged hole at 10 yards.
I have owned and traded alot of 1911's over the years, and this one shoots as good as any i have owned and frankly has been 100% reliable which i cannot say for Nighthawks, Wilsons and Dan Wessons i have owned.
Its a great pistol.

The incognoscenti know the early SW1911 were make with quality parts and assembled in the Perfromance Center.

Accuracy has never been an issue.

I bought a SW1911 used but unfired. My first 1911 and I was amazed at how accurate it made me shoot.

Bought mine 11/03, so almost 8yrs and a little over 16,000 rds, no issues so far and as accurate as I can hold. Sure glad I hung on to this one, Billboard and all.:)
