Just installed a new C-3 Defense suppressor on my 2206 and after 30 rounds the end cap blew off(went 20 yards) and half of the baffles blew out with it. Was shooting Remington sub sonic-no hot stuff. I hope C-3 Defense has good customer service. Anyone have any ideas or has had problems with suppressors? Please respond if anyone can help. Thanks
I had something like this happen with an AWC Abraxxus many years ago. The first time I sent it back to AWC they said it there was a small misalignment between the barrel threading and the suppressor even though they did all of the work threading the barrel and suppressor....
They repaired the unit and returned it. A few rounds later, I had another baffle strike. Same gun, ammo, barrel, etc. (Prior to this time I had owned several suppressors and never had a problem with any of them)
After the second repair I sold the unit in disgust because the exit hole looked like it had been repaired and was now oblong instead of a circle... and I had little confidence the next incident was just a few rounds away.
There are a few root causes to look for
Was the suppressor screwed on tight? Has an independent 3rd party examined the threading on the barrel and suppressor? If using wet medium, was the bullet path blocked with lithium based grease, etc.
