I picked up a bunch of Syrian 7.62 ammo at the gun show. After shooting some .308 shells this weekend with no problems I tried the 7.62 shells and immediately had problems with it jamming in the chamber. It would strip it from the magazine but would give a light hit on the primer and not fire. It was a real bear trying to pull the bolt back to eject it. I tried putting them in the chamber 1 at a time and they worked perfectly. Any ideas why they wont work out of the magazine?

Depends if your chamber is cut tight to .308 Win specs. Most 7.62x51 military rifles have rather generous chambers , especially in the neck and leade and who knows what specs Syria may have used?

A set of 7.62x51 NATO chamber/headspace gages would tell ya.
