Surprise gift for my fiancee

So, my fiancee has been hankering for the Walther Uzi pistol in .22 for about the last two years. She gets this gleeful grin on her face when she talks about getting one someday and then will sigh and say, "Aw well, it's in .22. I really probably don't need another .22."

We're getting married in May, so I've set aside a little cash in the meantime to surprise her with a little shopping trip after we are married...

Anyone own one of these and is it a decent plinker?

Just to re-bump in case anyone has tried the little Uzi .22 plinker and wouldn't mind sharing their experiences with it... much obliged for any opinion on it.

The diamond department is taken care of, never fear. She likes guns too, so I aim to keep her happy. She's definitely a keeper.

The Uzi is one of those things that would be cool due to the coolness and history of the original. A semi auto replica in 22 seems like a boat anchor of a plinker to me.

Buy her a semi auto gangster Thompson. I say gangster type as opposed to the military type because the military type doesn't take drum mags, just the 30 round stick mags. The Thompson is a super cool replica gun that only changed once, to semi auto instead of full auto. And you can dress her up in 20s cigarette girl dress with a mob boss daughter type for other fun, or to dress the part at the range.

Replica guns are cool, but I don't like a 22 with a body kit. It reminds me of putting a corvette body on a go kart so you can look cool on a budget.

But on topic, I own and love 22s, but I like guns in their intended cartridge, like a 1911 in 45, or a ruger 10/22 in 22. I don't own the Uzi in 22. I would enjoy an Uzi in 9mm though, but I'd still think it's superfluous.

Definitely. But I've always got an eye out, and when I find it at a not so outrageous price I get it. It requires patience, but most people don't have any due to 22lr has never before required patience and shouldn't be such a hassle now.

I almost traded a gun for a guy's Sig mosquito, because it came with 1000 rounds of 22lr. Both guns were worth about the same, too.
