surprised by Ruger

I like the little SP101. Mine resides just under the computer table downstairs where I spend a lot of time in the NRA concealed fixture under the table. It holds it snug and all I have to do is reach a few inched under the table and t here it is...stoked with 357 135 gr Speer GDHP's.

I'm not a big revolver guy but I will admit that those rugers are built like a brick **** house!

My first handgun was a Ruger .357 blackhawk and I have owned four more, a Vaquero, two single sixes and a 2 3/4 inch Security Six. Ruger revolvers are just super tough. As much as I love my Smith's, I have a real desire if I can ever afford it again to get another OM .357 Blackhawk.

I had about a dozen Rugers. Sold them all to buy about 1/2 dozen SW's.

Missed all the Rugers and bought a new Vaquero to satisfy the itch. Probably won't buy any more tho.

I love all my Rugers, great guns. If I had to get down to one, it might well be a 4" GP-100 over anything else. My 6" shoots like a laser when I do my part.

My last couple of new guns have been Rugers, MK II stainless 5 1/2 bull barrel, one of the Lipsey's .44 special Blackhawks, and one of the new SP 101 .22's. I also have a Ruger 77 in 7mm Mag that has taken some game. I have no issues with Rugers, they're not as refined, but they're certainly utilitarian arms.

I'm keeping my eyes open for a Security Six, it was my 1st issue gun with the Border Patrol but haven't found one yet.
