I have a new to me SW1911 PC coming at the end of the week. My intention is to shot it in a league next fall. Can anyone share their experience on feeding 185 or 200 grain LSWC cartridges with low velocity(785 ft/sec) and muzzle energy(250 ft lbs) Also can someone share what they used for a recoil spring for such a low power load? I suspect I will have to play with that too.

You may want to get yourself a few recoil springs and try them with your loads.

A 14lb'er should do it, but you may just have to go lower. I know Bullseye shooters that go down to around 9. At that level the mainspring has to be dealt with as well.

The 1911PC has extremely tight tolerances. Mine needed to work in a little to shoot reduced loads. That said, it is my "shoot the wings off a gnat" SA.

Yep, 14-16 lb spring, 3.6- 4.0 bullseye 200gr.

Mine cycles 4gr flawlessly with a 16lb spring, 3.6 and I have to concentrate on my grip a little more for reliable ejection. I also have a square firing pin stop installed, which reduces slide speed a little.

Wow! This sounds great. No one has problems feeding Lead Semi-Wadcutter cartridges in their SW 1911PC. I was really worried about this. I looked in my Gil Hebard Catalog and will order a reduced rate spring kit with rates that range from 9 to 16.5 lbs. And it looks OK to go ahead and order 1000 rounds of 200grain Lead Semi-Wadcuter(reduced load) cartridges.

Here is a picture of the new to me SW 1911PC. It took me a while to assemble/disassemble. There was a lot of thick red lube on the sear/disconnector/trigger. I wasn't what to do so I left most of it on. If it collects burnt powder/dirt I will remove it after the next disassembly.

Steve here... I cast my own for my Sig P220.
It eats all these Lyman's
I shoot the bullet on the far right in bullseye league. 3.4 grns bullseye. Mold is the Lyman 452460

I have had my PC 1911 for a few years, feeding thousands of rounds to it. I had been using a 14 weight recoil spring for light bulls eye loads, hard ball or semi-wadcutters. It started to misfeed, alittle, so I just went to a 12 weight. Works just fine.

The PC 1911 eats what it is fed, with a 14 to 12 weight spring.

What he said... I shoot 3.1 of BE under a 200 gn H&G with a 9lb spring.

Yep just high-temp grease. Put 500 rounds through it and then do a full strip. It'll be interesting to note where the grease still remains and where it doesn't.
