Hi,
Anyone own a 3" SW 1911 Pro? I'm interested in the new Lew Horton version that just came out. Has the reliability improved since they first came out?
I purchased one last week but haven't been to the range yet to test it out.
I called Smith & Wesson and the one that I purchased was made in June of 2012.
A friend of mine bought one last month and he has had no problems at all.

Thanks, I just sent in my cashiers check to the dealer. He's a fellow member here, AR-BLACK, great guy to do business with. It was his last one. He said he will be ordering more since they are HOT sellers. I will give my impression in a couple of weeks. NYS red tape you know.
I have had the non-LH Pro Series 3" for a few months now and have put about 250 rounds through it without a single problem. Before I started doing any shooting, I flipped the recoil spring around like it is supposed to be, however.
Well, I can't say completely without problem; my wife had a single failure to eject, which I attribute to limp-wristing the pistol.
I have a Lew Horton SW1911 pro series 3", I've only put 50 rounds through it so far, I like the way it handles, it is more accurate than I am...sweet shooting cannon. I like it a lot.
I bought one a few weeks ago and am very happy with mine. I had 2 failure to feed properly in the first 20 rounds but then its been trouble free for the next 200.
I took it to the range today and it outshot my 9mm H&K P30L and my Sig 229 .40 cal
Here are some pics
This is 10 rounds from my H&K P30L from 30 feet
This is 10 rounds from my Sig 229 at 30 feet
And this is 15 rounds from my 3" pro series ( I was ccw it today which is why 15 rounds)
