Hey everyone
I have a model 586 357 mag revolver. It has an adjustable front sight. Is this the standard front sight they come with or has it been replaced at some stage? Trying to use it in a combine services discipline shoot but need to figure out if it is as issued or has been accurized
Cheers Chris

Target sight

If I remember correctly the adjustable front sight was a factory option available on 6" & 8 3/8" barrels and was intended for silhouette competition. I always wanted one with that sight but haven't seen one for probably 35 plus years. Others more knowledgeable will be along shortly.

586

Sir you have a gun that is desired by many collectors! These were a limited production run of 586s in 6 " and 8 3/8" barrel lengths in the late 1980s. Both guns have two different product codes, 6" = #103526 & #103537 with the 8 3/8" = #103528 & 103538. Ths is my 8 3/8" barrel length gun

Cheers everyone. I did eventually find that it was standard up until about 1993. In mind if it came from the factory like that it is standard issue. Cheers for the information everyone

My dad had a 6" 29-3 Classic Hunter with the 4 position front sight.
