Trying to ID year of 38 spec s/n 5k85562. Plus any information regarding value.

You have a Model 15-3 (K38 Combat masterpiece) that shoots the .38 S&W Special cartridge. It's from 1974.

The model # is stamped in the yoke cut of the frame visible with cyl swung open.

refer to "completed auctions" in gunbroker for current market value of that model with nickel finish.

It looks well used, but a nickel Model 15 wouldn't sit in a case long around here at $750. Hard to tell with one picture.
