Hey guys, I haven't posted here in a while, I'm not sure what happend to my previous postings, it seems I only have (1) post as I start this thread.

I'm ready to pull the trigger and purchase a SW1911 Pro Series 9MM this weekend.
Product: Model SW1911 9mm - Pro Series

I've been eyeing it at the local gun shop for the past two weeks and like the idea of a 9MM 1911.

I'd like any feedback either positive or negative from any of you who own or have shot one.

I saw this gun reviewed on an episode of Handguns TV last week, which was either on the Sportsman's Channel or Outdoor Channel. Very intrigued. Great looking gun. Like the original poster, interested on any comments or insight from forum members.

I bought a Les Baer 9mm PII a couple years ago. Some break-in issues, runs like a top now. 9mm 1911 is a hoot to shoot. I reload. I've been trying to talk myself into buying one of these.

SW 1911 Pro Series - 9mm

I purchased one of these several months ago. I've only run about 300 rounds through it so far, but it's a great looking and great operating pistol.

While on topic, I am considering installing Crimson Trace grips on the gun, but the right thumb safety needs to be modified for these grips. Is anyone familiar with the proceedure to remove the thumb safeties?

I do not own a S&W 1911 Pro sedries in 9mm but have both a SA 1911 target and the Dan Wesson PM-9 in 9mm. The DW PM-9 has an undercut frame, chechered front strap, full ribbed slide, adjustable rear sght, fiber optic front sight and shoots one inch groups at 50 ft with a wide variety of bullet shapes - all for ca $1000. I believe the DW PM-9 is the best value in a quality 9mm 1911 style pistol.

Just picked mine up today, put 355rds through it without a hitch, great shooting gun. I've got training and qualifying for the rest of the week then I'll be posting pics and a range report, no time now.

Guys,

Go for it, you will not be sorry. I purchased one about 4 or 5 months ago and the guys at the range all got to shoot it. Everyone liked it and no problems with it at all. This is a must to own.

Sincerely,
THE ROLLING STONES

I'm also looking at the DW 9mm, TSQUARED. My choice is between the DW and the S&W.

I would suggest the DW. I have an '08 model, and it's one of the best production 1911s I've seen or handled (let alone owned). While the above comments about the SW model are positive, I've also heard/read some unfavorable comments from other owners about this model, both about performance and, more commonly, fit and finish. I've yet to hear a negative comment from a DW PM9 owner...and you certainly won't hear one from me.

I also have one. Bought it used, but in 95+% condition. It shoots like a dream. I've had mine for close to 2 months now. My Son and I have put approximately 1000+ rounds through it. I've not had a single problem. My Son did at first. But his were caused by "limp" wristing it. Once he fixed that issue, no problems.

Fit and finish on my gun is really great. The gun feels great in the hand. The only problem is the slightly loose trigger which does not affect shooting.

I highly recommend this gun. It's a very high quality weapon. One you'll be very proud to own, and Shoot!

Good Luck.

SgtSam
