Hello from tennessee!I have a s&w bodyguard 380,bodyguard 38 and the newest member is a sw40f .Traded for this gun from an older man that bought it new in about 2000 put int in his safe untill now .I have a couple questions for you experts. He says this gun made during the mag ban.the mag says it holds 10 rounds but when i do put 10 in it and put mag in gun it makes a rattleing noise but if i just put 9 in it no rattle.he said this gun is not a sigma .It is thinner than any 40 i have seen and lighter maybe from less rounds.I have searched the web and havent found this gun anywhere. It does not have the slots on the front for laser etc.it is the plastic bottom half and metal slide .What do I have here?seems to be rare everything i can find hols 15 rounds and are fatter than this gun .Love this gun I am a small framed guy and have a hard time cocealing a large thick weapon and this one is perfect for me to carry being thinner and smaller than all 40's i have tryed.Any help???Do sigmas say sigma on them?

From SCSW, produced 1994-1998. First produced with double stack 15 round magazine, later produced with 10 round magazine.

SIGMAs do not have the word SIGMA on the firearm.

You have the FULL SIZE SIGMA 40. That is what the F stands for.
S&W cut the slide and barrel back about 1/2" for all other versions of the SW40.

Do not worry about the rattling, it is not uncommon in double stack magazines.

If you live in a FREE State of the Union you can purchase the 15 round
standard capacity magazines for it. Otherwise you will need to find the
reduced capacity magazines imposed by your State's restrictions.

If you post the 4 digit "SPEC ORD" number off the boxes end label
we can tell you when it was manufactured.

Well it isint a double stack it is single .this being a thinner gun will it accept the double stack 15 round mags.it is 10 plus 1 now.didn't get box for it can serial number tell me?i figure its a 1997 or 1998 since it is a mag ban gun.this gun is like a brand new one .I guess this the one glock sued s&w for huh.just like one except better grips.

now that I look i guess they are kinda stagered but not like the double stacks im used to seeing but yeah now that i look at my 1911 it is alittle thicker. So can I use a 15 roumd mag in this gun?I notice the mag isint quite as wide as the grip so maybe so .Thanks!!
