I bought this from a pawnshop. Used, but looks brand new.

.40 cal
Has Smith & Wesson on Slide and Walther on frame. Also has the decocker on top.
Serial # is SAF9xxx

Question is how old is this gun and is it a good model?

It shoots great. I put around 100 rounds thru it and it worked flawlessly

Thanks for any info

Yesterday I went out and shot my 45 SW99 for the first time. At 12 yards off hand rapid fire , one big ragged hole. Cant ask for any thing better. The only thing I noticed was it had a tight chamber like the HK USP45. The 255 grain lead pin loads I use sometimes wouldn't chamber all the way.

If it has functioned good so far, you should be fine. I've read it is a clone of the Walther P99. My P99 is my most accurate autoloader.

I have a 9mm sw99 and it is one of my favorite guns. It shoots whatever I put through it. They are very good guns.

I have the SW99 in 40 cal. I purchased new around 2001. I really like the gun, never had any issue's with it and it shoots great. Good luck with it.

I've got a brand new SW99 in 40 cal on its way in a few days. I am usually patient, but, I want it 5 minutes ago. The SW99 series is a great, but under-appreciated pistol.

It is for all intents and purposes a P99 with some cosmetic changes. The only real difference is that the SW99 comes with a lifetime warranty. I've also heard that the .40 SW99 has a better supported chamber than the .40 P99 but I haven't seen them side by side so I can't say for sure.

Do you mind if I ask where you got it from? I might be interested in buying one if there's a source for brand new SW99s out there.

e S&W 99 & Walther P99 are basicaly the same gun. Both are very accurate and very reliable. I use my Waltherr P99 in IDPA. Never an issue on anything.

I got it new from CDNN for around 390. They were running a little low on the new pistols, around 3 or 4, but they still have some used ones in stock. Give CDNN a call and see if they have any new or used left. CDNN: 1-800-588-9500. I shot it for the first time yesterday and it is a great pistol, accurate, light and a nice SA trigger pull.

Night sights?

The gun was first released in March of 1999 with serial SAB0001. Production continued until 2004. Bruce
