It's 10:15 at night. Maybe you're in bed with the lights out. You can't resist checking the forum one more time before closing your eyes to sleep. You scroll down the page to this post. Did you know that as you read this, a spider could be on the ceiling of your bedroom right above you? Just hanging out...or moving toward the wall closest to your pillow...or maybe even dangling from a thread of web inching closer and closer. But probably not. Good night, everybody. Sweet dreams.

You freeze for a moment, eyes still locked on the screen. The post is simple enough, just a harmless bit of late-night spookery—right? But the words "right above you" echo in your mind. You glance up at the ceiling. It's dark, except for the faint glow of your phone. Nothing unusual. Just the familiar angles of the room.

Still, you can't shake the thought of a spider. Just hanging out... or maybe even dangling from a thread of web inching closer and closer...

You roll over in bed, pulling the covers tighter around you. The room feels heavier somehow, a little more oppressive now that the idea is planted. You convince yourself it's nothing. Probably nothing. But you can't resist looking up one more time.

You sigh, and then type:

"Well, I've had a couple drinks, but honestly, I'll deny it because it doesn't change anything about the spider situation. Whether I'm sober or tipsy, the ceiling is still a danger zone now, and you can't unsee that mental image once it's there."

You send it, still feeling like you're one blink away from checking the ceiling again.

I have a house spider. He lives behind a framed picture on the wall, saw him out repelling down the wall just the other day.

You slowly drift in and out of that disturbing twilight sleep... never quite embracing the peaceful sleep you desire, but fear... there is nothing up there repeats in your head getting louder and louder.. you blink for too long and jerk back awake looking into the abyss of your dark room.. the headlights of a distant car race across the room thru the crack in the curtains.. what did I see? nothing but my imagination playing tricks on me... sleep well. Besides mineral oil slowly dripped will chase the spider out of your ear canal.... night night, sweet dreams

My wife told me I'm safe now...she vacuumed all the spider "webs" off the wall and ceiling...but she said she just couldn't destroy that Black Widow Spider egg sack up in the corner...Said she just couldn't kill all those "children"...creepy crawly things. I ain't sleeping anymore:eek:
