I posted a month or so agao about my 19-2 score. 99% condition. Mirror bright blueing. Original diamond target grips. Got it for an unbelievable price of $249 (gunshop guy was clueless, obviously). I took the beautiful wood off and replaced them with Pachmayers. I know the wood is so nice, but I wanna keep the diamond targets in the perfect shape they are in, and shooting with the Pachmayers is so much more comfortable. here's a pic with the original grips. It doesn't look as pretty as it did, but it feels so much nicer to hold and to shoot.

Beautiful piece. I understand putting on the Pachs. You got such a steal on the gun, it would be a crime not to shoot it.

Very nice, you scored a GREAT deal. I'm with you on the rubber grips. The wood sure looks nice, but I shoot much better with Hogue monogrips. All the nice stocks for my revolvers are stored away just as you do.

If I want to take pictures, I just switch them out and snap a picture.

Really is there any need to rub that in??? Are you sure you weren't wearing a mask and holding that gun on the guy when you paid that?

I think Pachmayr Presentation grips are the most comfortable and practical. I love them. Got their Signatures on a GP-100.

Just take them off and clean under them at least several times a year. Gotta do that with wood or ivory grips, too.

Sorry! I NEVER get good deals. I guess when I finally landed one, I couldn't resist! I now stop into that gunshop nearly everytime I drive past it, hoping to score another great deal. Funny thing is that about a week after I got the 19, they got a 586 4" in similar condition. They have it marked at $499, which is what you would expect. Maybe the guy who logged in the 19 was dyslexic and the price was really $429, not $249! Either way, I walked out with that gun for $262.

The first thing I did when I got my M 19-3 was to replace the Pachmayers with stag magna style grips and a T-grip. Looks a million times better, but shooting it with .357 Magnum rounds sure gives the hand a workout. Oh-well, "vanity vanity all is vanity."

Please enjoy yours with any set of grips you like.

Wood stocks that fit your hand better won't give you the whip crack feel like the factory stocks will. I don't personally care for the thin to thick feel on my 19's factory wood. But everything I have added Ahrends to feel better under recoil. I need to try some for my 19 at some point. I'm comparing apples to oranges here but my 28 is much more enjoyable to shoot with Ahrends than with magnas or targets.

I thought of that, but I already had the Pachs from a model 10 I once owned, and I like the feel of the Pachs. Honestly, this gun is so nice that I don't see myself taking it out to the range much. I know I will never holster it. My son will get it while I'm gone. I'm gonna try to instill an appreciation for guns do he babies them like I do.
