Switching to Sheild9 plus

I’m done with Glock. Since buying my first gun, a Glock 43x I’ve gotten a M&P .22 and a bodyguard 2.0 and now it’s time to rid myself of my Glock, I’m trading it in for a shield9 plus.
I wish someone had pointed me into the smith and Wesson direction before I bought a gun I simply don’t like. There’s nothing wrong with the Glock but it just doesn’t shoot as nicely as the Smith line. Anyone else have gun moments like this?

i"ve made the same decision. I have too much invested in Glocks, Glock magazines, holsters that fit Glocks, etc to get rid of them. I'd never even come close to breaking even.

But when I buy now, I buy S&W M&P products. Their Shield Plus is a great pistol.

Over the past 30 years I’ve had moments like this! It is only in the past few months that I feel content with my firearms choices and have decided enough is enough! I no longer feel the need to trade. What I have fits my needs. I have a 1976 vintage Hi Power, a Ruger Security Six (after 10 years of looking), and an Sig P365. I did have a Glock 42and a Glock 43. I had forgotten how small the Sig P365 is. I wanted a 9mm to carry IWB and pocket carry. With a flat base magazine I can pocket carry the P365. The other two magazines have mag extensions giving it a full size grip. Couldn’t be happier. If I didn’t have a handgun, a Shield Plus would be a top consideration. But I have no desire to sell something to get one. I’ve had hand issues in the past. If those continue or get worse, a Shield EZ9 may be in my future.

I have a Plus and now with the 15 round Equalizer mag it's a nice package. The trigger is nice as well.

Truth is I sold all my non S&W handguns....(Glock 26, Hellcat Pro, Taurus G3 and LCP Max) for various reason's (fit, feel, accuracy, and on board storage)....Left with 2 Shield Plus models (3.1 and the new carry comp) in my rotation for CC.

Shield plus models meet or exceed my expectations and functionally but more importantly I have never had a failure of any sort with the shield line of pistols.....I totally believe in this handgun and can't really see the need of anything else for CC.

The Glock fascination is like the flu. You have it for awhile then you get over it and get something that you like. Luckily I never got that itch. I have owned and shot many different semi auto's, but the only time I tried a Glock it did not feel at all comfortable in my hand, it would never hold straight for me. My daily has been a shield until the plus came out and after shooting semi autos for over 50 years the plus is the gun I have been waiting for. With a 15 round Mag in it, it melts into my hand and I become one with it. The shield plus is the only gun I have ever owned that will point exactly where I want it to even with my eyes closed. I have stood in front of a target at 15 yards and with the gun at my side I can look at the target, close my eyes and lift the gun into shooting position with a two-hand hold and open my eyes and I am straight on target. I can honestly say the plus will be my forever gun.

Won't go through the years of carry, what we carried and why.

Almost two years ago I got my wife an Equalizer. She was having trouble pulling the slide back on her Shield 9MM. The Equalizer is easy to rack the slide back, has great magazine capacity, comes with an Uplula loader in the box, is OR, has nice thumb safeties and shoots as good as her Shield does.

I already had my Shield Plus OR. Bought/built up a stripped 4" 2.0 PC slide for it and swapped out the 3.1" top end. I didn't carry it on a regular basis. Had my P07 .40 for that.

With the switch to the Equalizer we now had commonality of caliber and magazines - if I started carrying the Shield Plus rather than my old P07.

I never realized how big/bulky/heavy the P07 and one spare mag. was. Now I carry the Plus all the time with three spare mags IWB and it's easier to carry than the old P07.

Something to think about, two different pistols, same caliber, same magazines.
