I shoot a lot with my 20 year old contender pistol and carbine. I own 2 of them, one of each. I have collected 9 barrels in mostly pistol calibers over the years.

The best features of this gun is the ease of cleaning after plinking all day. Even the price of ammo today, you can plink all day with this gun!

Anyone here own a T/C contender?

Yup - two barrels - a 14" in 7-30 Waters and a super 14 in 45/70, the latter being as much flame thrower as handgun :D

Those two seem to cover about everything I care to do with a Contender . . . .

Love mine :)
7-30 Waters and 22LR Bull Carbines.

I had a 45/410 & 22LR Pistol set-up but traded it for a 686.

I have one I inherited from my Grandpa. He died in 1980 and I think he got it in the mid '70s. Three barrels, .22 LR, .22 Hornet and .45 Colt.
I'd like to get more barrels, probably in .357, .41 and .44 Magnum.

I do, with a 10" bull .22 LR barrel and a 10" .223 barrel. I've shot a truckload of gophers with the .22, and the .223 is a hoot to shoot, I've owned it since the mid '80's and it's not going anywhere.

Take care...

I bought my first in 1976. I kept my second, bought a few years later. First barrel was a 10" .30 Herrett. Probably still have a dozen barrels for it.

The barrel I enjoyed the most is an octagon 10" .22 Jet with a 3X T/C scope. I killed probably 125-150 skunks with it.

The .44 Mag Hot-Shot is fun to play with.

I probably haven't shot it for 20 years. More guns than time to shoot them.

In 3 decades I wore out a G1 and now playing with a G2 with 10 inchers in 22LR, 357 Mag, 45 LC, 45 Winmag and a 14 inch 17 HMR.

Contender with 45/410, 22lr, 22hornet, 45 colt.
Encore with .50 cal, 25-06, 22 hornet, & 22 lr.
Both great shooters. Wife got me the Contender for Christmas 35 years ago. Still have them both.

I have a contender with a 357 max. and a scoped 7mm tcu.
I bought the frame with the 357 max., Then a few years later a buddy at work gave me the 7mm tcu. barrel with dies and a few other goodies.

I have one with two 16 1/2" barrels, .22RF and .223. I always planned on getting more, but just never did.

One SS frame, with two Super 14 bbls with Muzzle Tamers, both with 2x/2MOA Aimpoints, one in .223 which I've lately been using in AZ's handgun javelina season, and one in .30-30 Winchester, which lately sees little use, but with which I have a vague fantasy of taking another mountain lion lured with a predator call.
These are "neat" pistols which I regret not having discovered and appreciated earlier on ...

I belive this to be a very early contender. It came with a large fitted mahogony lined T/C case in 45 colt-410. I added the .256 win mag barrel and scope. It also has a silver butt plate to engrave. I think I bought this in the late 60s as used but unfired.

Two stainless frames; stainless super 14 barrels in .17 HMR, .22 match, 22 Hornet, .223. 7-30 Waters, 44Mag; Stainless 10" barrels in .357 and .22. All the barrels have the stainless "duo-ring" scope mounts as well. One of my frames has the old Fajen "Push-Pull" stock. It's a very cool setup.

Let me know if you ever want to get rid of that SS 30-30 barrel. I've been looking for one for quite some time.

I've got a gen-1 Super-14 in .30-30 ... talk about a sweet shooter. Traded a Winchester 94 straight across for it this spring. Looking forward to taking it out for deer season this fall!

1980 model w/ .30 Herrett barrel and 7X Burris scope. 2000 model w/ .223 Rem barrel with muzzle tamer.

I have additional barrels in 30 Herrett iron sights, 30 Herrett Super 14 w/scope, 357 Mag barrel.

Shot rifling out of .222 Rem barrel shooting South Dakota prairie dogs. Barrel had 1 minute of buffalo accuracy at 25 yards. If it wasn't a stampede up close and personal it was a miss on the target. As a new barrel, it shot Remington 50 gr HP into a dime at 100 yards.
