Hello from central Florida. What TLR light is good for my new sd9 ve. Is the TLR 1 sufficient, or those new TLR HL would be way to go. Thanks in advance.

I have a TLR1 on my G17. It is bright enough by far and easy to use. I have the strobe function turned off. I can't imagine needing anything else in the way of a light. It's so bright and easy to use that I relegated my DW 1911 with night sights to the safe and the Glock is now the bedside gun.

I bought an AIM, 150 lumens, light. It cost me under $30 shipped and gives a good bright light to the 25 yard line. It's more compact and in my opinion as good if not better a light. Note: I had a TLR in the past and was not impressed. I actually gave it away.

I purchased a TLR-4 for S&W M&P40 a couple of weeks ago. I installed it and it worked fine. The next day I took it to test fire and it laser was not working. I emailed Streamlight Customer Service and the responded that the may have shorted out. I shipped the TLR-4 to a Streamlight repair facility. I am very disappointed. We'll see what happens.

The TLR-1 is a very good basic light, very bright with no other foofaraw's and other additional gizmos that may be distracting during those hi stress moments. The screw clamp means it will stay on your firearm unlike some of the spring clip jobbers.

My wife as a TLR-1 on her M&P. As others above me have said it's a solid, dependable, basic light. IMO the more bells and whistles you have a on a single device, the more **** to go wrong. Also it fits nicely on my SD40VE. I have many service and police friends who swear by TLRs and that's all the referral I need.

I have a TLR-1 on my SD, and it works just fine for me.
