With all the new revolvers released with light rails etc... Like the TR 325, Anyone consider modifying one? I thought about maybe converting a 28 or 1917 with 6" bull barrel, pic rail for optics on top and small pic rail for lite on barrel bottom. maybe dovetail pic rail and add a set of 1911 sites.

If you're handy and like to tinker and don't care about marring an existing revolver I guess you could modify it. Buying one is probably easier.

I won't even attach a laser to my wheel guns so going "tactical" ain't my cup of tea.....

Have an old 1917, just tightened up. Also have a 45 barrel blank in stock. May look for a pic rail.

If you have the time, talent & tools, and have a shooter grade you want to modify it can be great fun. Back in the early 80's, before all the thousands of 1911 configurations were available, I built up my plain Jane Springfield 1911A1 into what I wanted. The kind of things you could only get (then) from custom gunsmiths. I learned a lot in the doing it. Just keep in mind that all the money you stick in it will never be returned, it is for your enjoyment.

My TRR8 fill the need just fine. I can put a red dot on the top, hang a light or laser on an angled pic mount off the side and mount a bayonet on the bottom. And in case that doesn't scare the heck out of the assailant, I still have 8 doses of 158gr love on tap for immediate distribution.
