Hello everyone I am new here, first post actually. I enjoy the forum as it showcases many options and ideas to try, thanks to everyone's input.

With that said, last week I ordered a MOE edition 15-22 and it should arrive for me to pick up on Wednesday. Really looking forward to it's arrival!

I am new to the tactical scene and would like to be able to pool from many of your guys vast experience and knowledge in this department.

I would appreciate it if you guys could inform me on the pros and cons of your personal tactical style red and or red / green scopes. Any pictures would be appreciated as well if you have any.

I see there are a ton of options out there but where I live (NE Ohio) there are very few tactical style optics at my local shops so I am not able to handle many to see what I like best.

Again, any help / information is appreciated.

No vast tactical knowledge here but I will say this.

My son and I have several AR-15 and now a MOE MP 15-22 I put the Truglow Red / Green dot scope x 2 on my MOE .

The reason for this was we discovered that depending on light conditions the Green sometimes works better that the Red – example when shoot clay targets with the Orange paint on them, also, depending on where the sun is hitting you or a target we switch to Green.

It is not tactical at the range but I would imagine the same scenario could take place anywhere.

When shopping for an optic for my 1522 price was a major consideration. As mine will be used for plinking I avoided high dollar setups, especially those near or exceeding the price of the firearm itself. I wanted something magnified but also having the ability for quick acquisition so I choose a combo made by NCstar, Chine made, China price. I also have a AR-15 with the 3x9x42mm rubber armored Mark III tactical scope,

I love this scope for longer range shooting. A lot of people have trouble with these scopes click the link and go to the last page I posted a email NC Star sent me.

After it was installed, right no problems at all with this scope.

Depends on what kind of shooting you do.

I have a Primary Arms 4x illuminated reticle scope that does real well for 50yd paper shooting. I have a Primary Arms 1X Micro Dot that does real well for bouncing cans around. One thing I like about the PA Micro Dot is very light weight. My MBUS front and rear sights plus Micro Dot weigh about the same as just the 15-22 factory sights alone.
