I'm trying to convert to a M4 type carbine using the Tacticool barrel nut and an AR15 Delta Ring assembly. Firstly, I'm confused on the Tacticool directions on how to tighten the Tacticool barrel nut. And secondly, I have a Delta Ring, the spring, the circlip, and an AR14 barrel nut. I really can't figure how it all goes together. Am I still missing a part or what?

Call or write Jody at TactiCool22. Since it's his product, he's the one to ask.

I just figured it out, one of my duh moments. I wasn't seeing how the delta nut went together, then it was obvious. I then threaded that on the Tacticool nut and used a regular AR15 barrel wrench to tighten it all down together. The trickiest part was timing the AR barrel nut so that the handguard was properly aligned.

Add a couple pics here too. There are so many picture threads it's hard to keep track.
And I can't seem to find yours

Here you go. My other post has a writeup about how I did my build.

I like the Idea of switching to a delta ring and making the 15-22 look like a stock M4. But why would you switch out the stock quad rail for a MoE hand Guard? Sorry just seen the guard and had to ask why lol.

Either way gratz on the build.

I don't like the look or feel of the quad rail. I don't see how you could keep it anyway if you installed a delta ring.

The MOE handguard is super comfortable to me.
There are two piece quad rail aluminum hand guards.
There are some free float hand guards you can put up to 8 rails all the way around.

after seeing this project, i was inspired to undertake the same thing with the same hand guards.

for me personally, my ar-15 already has a quad rail. i am sure you know the moe hand guard has the ability to accept picatinny rails or accessories as well, if wanted. or it can be left empty for a cleaner look. imo, it sort of doesn't make sense to remove the quad rail just to put a delta ring and then stick on another quad rail system... unless the whole objective was to switch to an aluminum quad rail instead of the polymer one.

The MOE handguard is my favorite, I have one on my Colt AR15 as well. I just ordered the hardware to mount a tactical light and a sling attachment point. That's all I will need. Some people like quad rails and that's fine. To be honest, when I was looking at .22s I almost bought a SIG as I didn't like the quadrail on the Smith. But I bought it anyway as I thought the pros out weighted the cons. I think the quad on the 15-22 looks toyish and I can see some drugstore commando hanging tons of crud on it. It doesn't bother me at all if that is what someone else is into, but its not me. My brother likes mine so well he is going to buy the parts for me to do a conversion on his. I already have the special tools so it will be relatively cheap for him. Imitation is the best form of flattery. :-)

Just ordered a new Tacticool freefloat barrel nut on eBay and a True Shot Technologies sight base for brother's 15-22. Brownell's has round carbine handguards for $16 if anyone is trying to save some money on this conversion.

+1 on the MOE handguard, fits my hand nicely and love the look of it.
