Take a look at my freshly refinished "Royal Blue" Colt 1991A1 Compact Clark Meltdown

I'm not a fan of the melted look, though I understand the purpose, your 1991 looks fantastic.
As stated by some, it looks too nice to carry. I use suede lined holsters which I find to really protect my finish. I'm interested in seeing it today after being a EDC.

Here is a pic I took a few weeks ago, the finish is holding up surprisingly well. I've been carrying it in a Wilson belt holster but I have a Black Hills Leather smooth lined holster on order for it, the holster will match a belt and other gear that they made for me a couple of years ago.

Simply outstanding, and yes by all means carry that warrior.

Otherwise, it's all dress up and no where to go.

WOW!!! That is one REALLY beautiful pistol!!! I agree with what was done with the front sight: too much brass. I would have kept the ramp angle, and just had a 'dot' brass bead put in.

Beautiful Piece...I love the Meltdown and the Re-Finish work.

I'd carry it too..if it were mine.

The price for what you had done was very reasonable in my opinion...I'd gladly pay it for quality work done in a reasonable amount of time.

AWWWWWWW!! Where's the Ivory?? :D What's next, some leather from LOBOLEATHER????? Sure should be. :) Just STUNNING!!!!!!!

Thanks, guys.
Can't afford real ivory and I won't put the fake stuff on it. No Lobo leather yet, either, but I had Blackhills Leather make me a holster to go with a rig they made me a couple of years ago.

How does it shoot? Sure looks good!
It shoots like you would expect a Clark built gun to shoot - great! It is reliable with any ammunition, accurate, and has an excellent trigger. It's not just a pretty face.:)

I can't believe this thread keeps popping up, thanks for the compliments. But, since it did, here's some pics I took a few months ago. I ditched the stags for a set of simple black Gritty Grips, I like the look and feel.

This is a superb 1911. Only thing I would add if it was mine (do you want to sell? Just kidding) would be ivory grips and for this gal...i'd consider getting your initials put in the grips in solid gold. Hey, you only live once, right?

I think some honest holster wear will be entirely appropriate, and look great!

I saw this thread and clicked on it. Saw the initial photos, thought "Gee, this pistol looks familiar." Then I realized the thread's three years old. It still looks great, though, after three years. I prefer the stag grips, though...just my opinion. The black ones may feel better, but they detract from the uniqueness of the pistol.
