A big Shout out to Talons for another great grip like they make for all models .
Fit was perfect no trimming and gave this little shield a great feel . I went with the rubber as I always do . Don't know why I'm so excited it's nothing new to be very happy like all my other Talon installs but man it makes this shield feel good! For those on the fence I highly reccomend them for your Shield.

Looks good! I have to install them on my Shield, but they just got to me in the mail yesterday.
Thanks ! They'll be worth the wait just take your time installing them it's pretty easy though .Your going to love them !

Excited for mine to get here. Although it is getting COLD in michigan is my range time for the year is going to be slowing down a lot. I've gotten spoiled by a really nice DNR free range by my house and then outdoors at my parents, don't think I can stomach the indoor prices.

Same situation by me , I have a nice spot out in the woods to go to but the weather is getting cold . My indoor range I really like but expensive like most so I'm limited to my range time in the winter .

Ive been considering the Talons for a while. its hot here in Fla and I carry IWB 90% of the time. No undershirt, just shorts and a t shirt.
Any experience with the Talons on bare skin? seems like theyd rub you raw?

You should be fine just don't get the granulate/sandpaper skateboard tape type . Make sure you order the rubber ones and it shouldnt bother you at all . I like the way sandpaper feels in your hand but it's very aggressive much to aggressive for conceal Carry IWB for me anyway . I only use the rubber Talons but if I had strictly a range/target gun I didn't plan to carry I would probably choose the Granulate . It'll definately remove any calluses :D
I did read though if the granulate is to rough you can sand it down to make it less aggressive but I still wouldn't conceal carry it .

Just ordered a set of the rubber ones for my compact, and my Shield.

Awesome you should be very happy !
Just don't rush it and follow the instructions and you'll be good to go, There great grips.

I put the Talon rubber grips on my Shield a few months ago, very pleased with the new "feel" of the grip of the gun. For me it improves how the pistol sits in my hand, as well as the benefit of the texture itself.

Same here I love the feel !
Another one for Team Talon 😎 :D

Got mine for my Shield Friday, supposed to be rubber, but sent the granulate. Sent an e-mail, and just waiting for a reply. If I have to I guess I'll try em, I carry OWB, so maybe the granulate won't be a big issue.

Mine came today, just went and opened the envelope to make sure I got rubber as ordered.

So, random question, has anyone seen anywhere to purchase this rubber material in sheets on its own? I know the granulate is pretty much grip tape, but thoughts on the rubber? Didn't know if this was a propriety materials they had created, or if they buy it and basically make the. From it. Not that these are overly expensive in any way, but I see that they laser cut these out and I happen to have a laser cutter as a play toy at work. A high res scan and I could prob make a set for my dad and or an extra grip piece for new mags, etc.

I'd probably give them a try and just buy a back up set in rubber but that's me . I actually like the feel in the hand of the granulate but not IWB . I've had them before but ended up selling the gun so didn't spend a lot of time with it . I heard you can sand them down to take some of the bite out of them . OWB the only concern I would have would be maybe a little extra wear on your cloths "Jacket"or possibly your car seat . One thing that did bother me about them though is the shedding of the little tiny granulate pieces as I was concerned it would find its way into the action of my gun . Maybe it's just because they were new and I was just being a little critical . I've always ordered rubber after that though but with that being said they felt so good in the hand if I were in your shoes I'd give them another try if it was OWB and not IWB like I carry .

Maybe want to google it or maybe even YouTube might have some DIY info and were they got it .

The ones I put on my wife's Shield feel great....

My only dislike about using Talons is once you feel them on one of your guns no matter how good a grip feels without one. If you don't put one on your constantly fighting the temptation to put one on knowing how much better it will feel with a Talon .
That's the case with my experience anyway .

Talon sells a small sheet of the rubber grip material (5 by 7 inches), if you needed to custom make something. I made my Shield's grip larger (longer by 1/2 inch to the rear), to better fit my large hand. I bought just a sheet of the rubber material and custom fit it to my grip. The price is currently $10 for the sheet of material. I made paper templates to fit the shape of my grip and then cut the rubber to fit the templates.

Update. Got an e-mail from Gillian at Talon is morning apologizing for the mix up. It was initially my fault anyway, having ordered the wrong ones, and e-mailing them about the change the next morning, which they hand wrote on the original invoice. They are sending me my rubber grips with a self addressed stamped envelope to return the wrong ones. If half the companies out there had this kind of customer service, the world would be a better place.
