Knowledgeable Tampa folk, I need some help!
It is not easy to find reloading supplies locally, sometimes even the most basic of powders and primers are unavailable.
So I usually accumulate requirements and order from Powder Valley.

I have a project which is going to require two pounds of Hodgdon Benchmark and since the hazmat fee is up to $27.50 the cost to have just two pounds shipped is high.

I will be making a trip down the Suncoast/Veteran’s to the airport (TPA) next week and I would like a suggestion as to where I might find reloading supplies, preferably easy-off and on the toll way.

I have purchased from Harbor Reloading (Clearwater), who by the way has everything, but at least from my perspective is a long way from my route.

Thanks rule3, the closest Bass-Pro Shop is Orlando, about 100 miles; the trip would cost more than the hazmat fee. Bass-Pro charges $9.00 more per pound than Powder Valley.

Brandon is about the same situation the miles driven are not worth the fee savings especially since PV has a lower price.

I wish that I had known that I needed a relatively fast rifle powder since I have just stocked-up on powder and primers in fear of the worst.

Being a frugal Scot is a problem in situations like this.

I live in Ruskin and the only one I found was Harbor reloading. I also checked around the area and could not find any, but glad I found Harbor. Like you said,,they have everything and the prices are good. They are not that far from TPA...mapquest them and you will only have to make a few turns....best of luck....

I'll bet you can save $20 of that Haz-Mat fee by mail ordering anyway. By the time you turn the key on your vehicle & pay high store prices you will most likely go above Powder Valley prices. You must need something besides 2 lbs of powder anyway too?

get your calculator out and your internet connection call your buddies do a order split the cost you have saved enough for beer?
Regards
Bob

We put together two big orders one in March and one in May, I am stocked for at least a year.

I have been to Harbor-great place, so I suspect I will head there again I am going to call tomorrow and find out if he has stock.

It seemed to me that a city the size of Tampa would have more reloaders. Reloading supplies though evidently are not important enough to advertise.
Shoot Straight had nothing last time that I was there (the one by the Fairgrounds). There is a Gander Mountain not far from here but they dropped powder and primers.

The new Gander Mtn. store in Tampa does not carry reloading supplies and/or equipment. A person at the store told me the county required way too much so they decided not to carry any thing in that vein...
