Whether you approve or disapprove of tattoos is not the point of this thread, nor do I want any comments to devolve into the pro vs. con debate. This is just a story I find amusing ...
Mrs. MC5AW has an impressive collection of body art, courtesy of several of the finest artists in the country. She has always been an admirer of Edgar Allan Poe, and wanted to honor her favorite writer with a portrait (See photo). Well, as we were recently strolling through the area's massive sporting goods store, we passed some fatboy local who muttered something to his equally porcine spouse as we passed. Mrs. MC5AW laughed, and as I had not heard the comment, asked her what Jack Wagon has said. "He didn't like me having a tattoo of John Wilkes Booth ..."
Soon after, Mrs. MC5AW went to the chiropractor for a quick alignment check, and the young fellow cracking backs inquired, "Is that Edgar Allan Poe or John Wilkes Booth?"
Being a reasonable man with a reasonable mindset, I am at a loss ... Who in their right mind would want to immortalize the cretin who shot President Lincoln? And who in their less than right mind would think that a rather normal, middle class, albeit tattooed, person would want to immortalize the cretin who shot President Lincoln?
Are people simply getting dumber, or is common sense at a premium these days?
