Taurus 65 2.5” barrel

This really belongs in the "Firearms & Knives: Other Brands and General Topics", but to answer your question:
Externally, it is almost identical in size to a S&W K-frame, but I think the top strap is a little thicker, more like the current production Model 19 and 66. Parts do not interchange, the lock work is completely different than that of the S&W K-frame. The main spring is not a leaf spring, but is a coil spring, so it will never have the trigger action like you can get with a S&W. If you want speed loaders, use those designed for S&W K-frame 38 Special/357 Magnum, the same goes for holsters.

thank you very much for your reply. Certainly apologize for posting in the wrong Forum if a moderator can move this that would be great. Otherwise not sure what to do.
IMHO, you posted in the right place if you wanted the people who would likely know the answer to see your question.

Next time just flip it and ask if a K-frame's dimensions are similar to a Taurus 65 because you want to know if it will fit a Taurus 65 holster. Same difference, but people will make less of an issue about where you posted the question.

I love my S&W model 19 and 13's, but I am a pretty big fan of these older Taurus revolvers too. I wish S&W would have made a regular production 2.5" and 3" model 13 with shrouded ejector like the Taurus 65 and 85. I have had these two guns for well over 30 years and they are still going strong. They use S&W speed loaders and holsters just fine. Aftermarket grips are more of a challenge to find for the Taurus revolvers though.
I also have this 3" fixed sight model 425 in 41 Magnum. I wanted to have S&W model 57 barrel shortened to 3" and installed an a S&W 58 in 41 mag made to look like the Taurus, but I found this Taurus before I sent of my S&W for work.
