I didn't care a lot for Elvis, nor do I care a lot for Ms. Swift. That is not to say that both weren't extremely talented, just not my cup of tea (and I don't like tea either).

I have to agree with most of what you said. (I do like plain old ordinary black tea. Not so much the various yuppie teas.
)I think Swift is riding quite a wave, and doing it fairly successfully, but in truth I know almost nothing about her. I like to see people be successful - IF they can keep their head about them. That seems to be a rare quality. Elvis certainly did not. I hope Swift can do better.

My older daughter (23) is a huge fan. I think she sings ok and is good looking and has a clean image which is a big plus, but I'm not interested in her music. It's a generational thing.

What's the deal with a large number of NFL fans supposedly hating her? Celebrities have been going to NFL games and rooting for their favorite team since like forever. I can recall the cameras panning across celebrities and famous national figures since I was a kid watching in black and white. Is it just because she's a woman or that she's dating a player?

I like her. I don't know any of her songs, but she seems like a genuinely nice person who treats others with respect. I'm happy for her that a good person can be successful in this day and age. It's encouraging to see the good guys and gals win once in a while.

I feel she's a brilliant business person, a gifted song writer and a talented performer with a great voice. Throw in that she is gorgeous and for the most part, present herself as the girl next door. She's well mannered and polite. She's pretty much the complete package. Of course, I couldn't name one of her songs or recognized one if I heard it, but she certainly has a worldwide following.
Is she good for the NFL? Well to my knowledge she's never been arrested or sat out a National Anthem, so she's better for the league than some players! She's riding the wave of popularity seldom if ever seen. So for most of us, she's vastly over exposed.

Who IS this Swift person?
My wife claims to know but I could not identify her if I saw a photo and although I do know she sings could not name a single tune she has performed.

Especially at $400 - $20,000 a ticket in a stadium with 50,000 or so other nuts, where the performer is a mere dot on the horizon from the "cheap" seats. If I like the artist's music, I'll buy a CD or stream the music for < $20.

She seems to a be a popular point of discussion here for someone that not many care for? She is the new generation. She is the complete package. Heck she donated a Million to the State of Tn for disaster relief or some such thing.

One Chick opened her mouth politically and that was it for them. They did come back with an album that was one of their best (I know these things from my daughter
) I actually like some of their songs, Don't know a single Taylor Swift song but she is pretty! and a good example to younger girls rather than the other idiots out there!
