According to the evening news Ted Kennedy is no longer a threat to young women or honest gun owners.

Very difficult to imagine anyone could be worse. I won't celebrate the death of any person, especially not after more than a year fighting cancer. Neither will I pretend that our nation isn't better off without Mr. Kennedy in the Senate.

If he were to be appointed I would have bet money that Barney Frank would be the successor. I still dont discount that possibility.
The only advantage is that whoever succeeds him will not have the same clout Kennedy did so wont be as effective.
How about Deval Patrick, current governor who I think is term limited? I couldn't see him as any better, probably worse.
