I have a S&W CS45 that I am trading for and don't know much about them.I getting it because it is small and light as I needed a every day carry gun.The one I am getting has a single sided safety or is that a decocker? All I know is it looks great.Any input would be great.BTW I also have a Milt Sparks Versax II with Shark Skin trim that comes with the CS45.

The CS45 is on my "short list" :) I just bought a CS9 and LOVE it! THe CS45 is a 3.5" barrell so it must be a little bit bigger than the CS9. My CS9 has the safety lever on both sides and was made in 2005. I believe the single sided is an older version? Good luck and ENJOY! :)

Gunbroker has a few NIB CS45's. I found my CS9 at a local Scheels sporting goods store.

I've had one for a little over 2 years and I love it. I've had a couple of failures to feed but those were just "bad bullets" and I can put all 6 rounds on a 9" paper plate at 50' with a two-handed hold but it's also incredibly easy to shoot well one-handed. It's a compact, solid feeling gun with very little noticable recoil or muzzle flip. I like the soft rubber grips that come standard but many people don't like them for carry and alternatives are available. They are also pretty cool looking and I've gotten a lot of inquiries about it at the range. My plan is to use that gun to qualify for my CCW permit when I have the extra $250.00 that that costs.
Good luck on your new aquisition and enjoy!

I once a had a CS9 and a CS45, but I preferred the 3913 over the CS9 and a Kimber Ultra to the CS45. The CS45 is a nice weapon, but I found the Kimber Ultra to be a little more compact and more upgradable as for part availability. As for reliability and accuracy anything in the CS line is a great weapon.

The single sided safety also serves as a de-cocker.
