Semper Fi!

Yeah, I understand the "boredom and bullets" thing! I love to cast though. Almost as much as shooting!

Nice looking bullets. Last rainy day we had around here caused me to smelt down a bucket of wheel weights. Then the other night, I put some of those ingots into the pot. Spent several hours making bullets too.

Great fun and all through the shortage of components, I've had the same exact bullets I have always had. Never short of supply when you cast and the neighbors have cars! ;)

Don't they get suspicious about all the missing wheel weights?

It's a good hobby and if you enjoy it,it's certainly not time wasted but enjoying it is the bottom line.I began casting bullets about 45 years ago and after casting MANY thousands,I now enjoy it about as much as washing the dishes.I only cast now as a means to an end (cheaply getting the design and alloy of my choice).I don't shirk my chores but I don't neccesarily enjoy them.Truth is,I often resort to commercially cast these days.

I was bless with 6 - 5 gallon buckets of lead and 20 pounds of litho (tin)
so i got plenty of lead and stuff to make em hard or soft, just wish I had a hollow point mold for my 454 but no $$$$$$

I started casting bullets when I was about 14 years old. That was sixty years ago. I STILL enjoy working with the "Silver Stream". I have hand cast several hundred thousand bullets (used to do it commercially) but I still get a thrill looking at a pile of beautiful cast bullets).

I cast for .32, .38/.357, .44 Special/Magnum, .45 ACP/Colt/.454 Casull.
Before my vision problems I cast for several different rifles and a few Contender calibers. It can be VERY, VERY satisfying. Not quite up with shooting a good group or score but satisfying, nonetheless.

Revolverfan2;
Here's to you (a thumbs up!)

You were bored?!

I made up a bunch of .45acp keychain fobs.

That's like a cry for help. :)

"Like a cry for help"? That's an outright scream. ;) Seriously, why not post a photo of your fob-- maybe you can sell some and that will turn your cry for help into a business venture.:)
