I have very little experience with postwar I-frames, usually just enough to get me in trouble...This was a weekend acquisition taken as part of a multiple buy, and although slightly out of my wheelhouse, I'm rather taken with the little guy...I try to include as much descriptive detail as possible when cataloging my new adoptions, but this part of SCSW4 always baffles me...Therefore, I'm asking for as much identification aid as I can get before sending this one off to the make-ready department of Dunkin Gunwash...
Notable features of this .38 S&W Terrier are the serrated ramp front sight, the shorter early Magnas (numbered to the frame), LH thread ejector rod as evidenced by the machined band behind the knurled end, 5 screw coil spring frame, rounded trigger guard and finely checkered hammer spur...All the numbers match...
It's probably seen considerable shooting from the appearance of the recoil shield...So for any help I can get in identifying this cute little guy as to which frame to call this I'll be forever in your debt...
