Anyone ever seen evidence that they exist?
Only this one.

Renewing this thread to ask what is the consensus on value today (mid-March 2025)?

There's one at the local gun show, thought I might pick it up tomorrow if it is still there. He said he'd take $1350 out the door, it has the case and knife, and the SN's do match on the gun and knife, they are in the low TR6xxx range, don't remember the specific number. The case is nice inside, but has condition issues outside that can be mostly eliminated with careful work (which I am capable of). The knife is perfect, and the gun is a close to ANIB as I've seen, but it has been fired from evidence of scrubbing of the burn rings (but no damage). No measurable end shake, locks up tight and the SA break is as good or better than the M19-3 I already own (non TR) The bluing is not a bright blue and isn't quite as shiny as my M19-3, but it may just need a good wash 'n' wax, not scratches of any kind, and the TR star and barrel lettering is crisp and still color filled. The stocks are perfect, but don't have the fancier coloring streaks I've seen in pictures of others, and I believe these are rosewood. I did not see any paperwork, but the key for the case is there. Was there a sheath for the knife? I did not see one for this gun.

What do you say, guys? Worth $1350 ? I don't need it, but it is a nice commemorative set.

Yes, the matched sets did come with a sheath for the knife

Unfortunately in this day and age the sheath is almost never included

I have to agree with Xfuzz, that would definitely be a set to add to the collection

I don’t buy commemoratives, but I’d take this example home for $1500, not a penny more. What’s the engraved version going for?

IIRC, the original package sold for $250 and the engraved package sold for $1000. So if you extrapolate that out today, my guess would be $6000+.

is it under the liner in the case?

I remember telling the biggest dealer in my home town that I wanted one of those. Apparently he did not think I looked like I had $250 because he did not bother to come up with one.

I"m looking at a 19-3 Texas ranger commemorative with a presentation case and Bowie knife. looks to be in very nice shape, I've only seen a couple pics so far, still trading texts back and forth over more info. he's asking $1275 +shipping. was wondering if anyone has any inputs or thoughts about the price. the scS&W says that only 1,950 were sold with a presentation case and knife.

thanks for any responses

Bryce
fair price

IIRC the presentation case, knife and gun are all serial numbered to match. Mine don’t match but I don’t care still a nice package and worth what I paid for it.

I decided to pass on it. I have a 4" M19-3 from about the same time, and as nice as the TR was, I just told myself 'no'.

Late to the party.....

Since you decided to pass on this gun, can you pass the information on to me??? I just got one with knife and sheath..box was tacky and I found a new box. I wouldn't mind have another..
