:D:D:D:D:D

Now that's playing dirty. Guess ill have to settle for chug-a-lugging more nog when I get home.:D

I've eaten Blue Bell since I was a little kid (34 now). Today I still enjoy it.

I don't eat ice cream but maybe once a year being a diabetic. But any quality ice cream with real fruit in it, it's good to me!

Heck, y'all are making me crave a cup right now. Thank goodness, there's none in the house! Maybe banana with pineapple? Strawberry? Cherry? Peach? I LOVE peach ice cream!

Even a gross little Frosty from Wendy's would taste good to me, right now! Oh, y'all said real ice cream! Not frozen artificial flavored milk! My BAD!

I figure that Ben abd Jerry have the right to their opinion, same as I do, and as a child of the 60's, how can I pass up Cherry Garcia?

Ben & Jerry support causes that are in direct opposition to everything I believe... I wouldn't eat their stuff if it was free.............

Blue Bunny is pretty good too.

Lt JL:

You are correct, Ben and Jerry are entitled to their opinion, but not on my dime. They are rabidly anti-gun, and contribute money to try to outlaw the very guns that we hold dear. So I just don't see how I could, in good conscience spend money on a product the sale of which would provide, even infinitesimally, funding to contribute to gun control efforts. I won't get into politics here, but it seems counterproductive to me for gun guys to be contributing to gun control. YMMV, and we all have to make choices, and there are plenty of great ice cream brands without the stigma of Ben and Jerry's. I have felt very strongly about this company for many years now, and if you guys think I'm a nut on the subject, you are in good company, because my family will agree with you. You should have heard my boys years ago: "But Dad!!! We love Ben and Jerry's!!!!" ..."Quiet!!!, ....You'll eat Häagen Dazs and like it!!!!"

Oh yeah, by the way, my favorite flavor is plain old vanilla... And Häagen Dazs is as good as I'm likely to find in the grocery store. I'm also somewhat partial to strawberry.

My favorite flavor is coffee, I like Ben&Jerry's if I buy ice cream from the market I like Friendly's it has a rich coffee flavor, I don't care for Breyers we have a few local places here that make their own ice cream that is very good but they are only open a few months out of the year.

Well, I don't know, that's not my point...the point is that I refuse to knowingly donate money to people who are intent on destroying the life that I cherish, and the constitutional rights that are precious to me. I know that there are so many products out there that are produced by anti-gun venders that it is probably impossible to know them all, and avoid them all.

The same reason that I refuse to join the AARP, even though they might be able to provide a service that might save me money on insurance or whatever, they will never get a dime of my money to use in destroying my rights. AARP and Ben and Jerry's are just two of the most notorious and despicable. They make money and flourish in a society where the free market allows them to thrive, and then use a portion of that money to endeavor to destroy that society, and the things that go towards making that society great.

The same reason that I won't watch any movie or tv show with Jane Fonda in it. I'd better drop the subject though, I don't want to offend anyone here with an unpopular post, and I know that we shouldn't talk politics, but I feel that some things are just counterproductive to our way of life, and to encourage them is to empower them.

That's just the way I see it. I don't expect everyone to agree with me. But it has nothing to do with whether the ice cream tastes good. As someone pointed out above, it would sour in my mouth. I understand that Ben and Jerry don't even own the company anymore, so maybe a patriotic firm bought them out, but the brand is forever soiled in my mind.

Best Regards, Les

I'm here to tell you that Dreyer's chocolate rocks the house. Sometimes it's at Wal Mart, and usually at Albertson's.
I don't think anything compares to small gelato shops. I wish you could get good fruit sorbets in groceries.

les.B, I never tried Haagen Daz, or however you spell it. Tell you what, if they have something comparable, I'll switch.

Ive only had a little of Haagen Dasz--mostly because its so rich in calories-and I loved it. After I lose more weight, im buying some.

I'm sure you're doing what's best for you. Myself, I started (many years ago) going with a pint of Haagen Dazs in place of a half gallon of something else. Less fat, and more satisfying. Unfortunately, that grew to more than a pint of Haagen Dazs. I eventually decided that moderate alcohol consumption (two drinks a day five or six days a week) was a safer indulgence than two pints of ice cream two days a week, or whatever it was. So now I have a quart of Trader Joe's two or three times a year, if that.

I think I'm doing the right thing.
