I've got an Oehler Research model 33 chronograph that I bought new in the late 1980's. Four or five years ago it started acting up by giving obvious false readings or error messages. Finally, it would go straight to error when powered on. It was put away and eventually burried under other stuff. Last week I'm cleaning out the basement when ran across the chronograph and decided to call Oehler and see if they knew of anyone that might still work on this antique technology.
To my shock and amazement, they still support and repair the model 33! They put Gary on the phone and after a few questions, he gave me some tips to try before I shipped it back. THEY WORKED! I've got my chrono back by simply cleaning the contacts where you plug in the sky-screens.
It's a rare company that will stand behind its products after 25-30 years.
