Guys-
Want to thank you for all your insights and opinions on this site. After following the site for awhile I bought my first handgun (new S&W 617) a couple of months ago. My thought was to get a lot of inexpensive practice with a similar frame then get a 686 down the road. So far about 1500 rounds though it and love it...and the 686 is prob just a few months away. Getting hi-viz front sight installed this week and can't wait to get it back. Keep up the good work

Welcome to the world of S&W revolvers!

This forum seems to be one of the most civilized gun forums on the internet.....and so full of experienced men who are willing to share their knowledge without being condescending.

Now get that 686, and keep us posted!

These same guys talked me into buying my first wheel gun. Their pictures and stories will make you a believer. I have a 637 and love it. Say goodbye to your extra spending money.

I agree with the other posters that this forum is one of the best I've ever belonged to as the people up here are friendly and willing to share their knowledge. You also don't see the flame wars that seem to go on in a lots of the other forums.

This forum definitely helped me too when I bought my first Smith revolver last May.

Welcome aboard,

Glad you joined us and it's always good to have a new shooter.

Absolutely the best forum I have found. Great guys with great info. I learn something new most all the time.

Keep shooting your 617, soon you will have a whole safe full of Smiths whether you want them or not as reading this forum gives you "smithitis".

John

I would also like to extend a thank you to this forum community. Within the last 4 or 5 months, I've gotten a 19-6 and a 681, as well as started researching reloading (also thanks to a press from wifey for christmas). This forum has been a tremendous resource and I look forward to learning and contributing to it myself. so yeah, my hats off to y'all!

Welcome to the forum!!!

You are absolutely right on the civility level on this forum. It is impossible to have a reasoned discussion involving .22LR on the other gun forums. If you don't believe me, go to the Beretta forum and try it - you'll get flamed by 100 'caliber queens' before day's end.
