I bought night sights for my two CS9s online from Optics Planet. Had some problems with them repeatedly sending the wrong sight sets, but they finally sent the right ones (and yes, the CS45s are different---I had previously installed a set of those. Optics sent me those with no problems and they went on perfectly, shooting to point of aim). After I installed the CS9s, however, I had to call Trijicon to explain a problem I was having with them (my CS9s with the new Trijicons) shooting way low. They asked me to send in the slides. They managed to replace the front sights with some that have the dot resting right above the slide and even though I didn't buy 'em from them, they did it no-charge. My CS pistols now all shoot spot-on.

I also had a 3913 and a 3913 LS, both used, and both had severe accuracy
problems: one shot over 4" low, both had barrels that weren't milled
right and one (a "Lady Smith" variant) wouldn't group at all and was
shooting 7 & a half inches low. I sent SAW the slide of the 3913 Lady
Smith. They re-barreled it (at no charge) and it then formed a group,
but still shot 7 & a half inches low. For sights, S&W service department
suggested that I try a sight manufacturer, as they reportedly had no other sights available. I re-crowned the other barrel with the help of a machinist friend.

Sent both slides to Trijicon, who solved the remaining problems. They
installed a used, but perfectly serviceable, rear sight that was a
little higher on my LS, as well as a much lower front sight. This gun now shoots
perfectly to point of aim and sports night sights where before it had
just the standard Novaks.

As for the one that was shooting 4 inches low, this gun had Trijicon night sights on it already, so they installed a new, lower front sight, while harvesting the perfectly good tritium lamp from the old one which they used on the Lady Smith front sight. This gun is
not quite as precise as the Lady Smith---it now shoots two inches
high, but at least hits all "in the black" --- a big improvement.

And Trijicon did all of this (including return shipping) FOR FREE.

Anything else I ever decide to do with night sights I intend to send to them directly.

I'm wanting a New set of Nightsights for my newly aquired 3913NL as the ones on it are all but dim, It was made in 1991 & there 18 years old..
I've had Tru-Dot Meprolites & Trijicons before & was realy looking for a Novaks Night Sights!!
Can You Post Pics of the sights they sent you?
Thanks for the Thread!!
Always good to hear of a Company taking care of customers, I bet you never buy any other brand of night sights again..
Good Customer Relations There!!

Sorry, I've never taken the time to sign up for a storage host for posting pictures. The 3913 sights look just like any other Novaks, except they have the tritium inserts. The CS9s look just like the later generation steel sights they started installing after the initial plastic ones on the blued and non-ambidextrous models. The CS45 sights ride up a bit more and are blockier than the CS9s. If you already have Novak night sights that are old & weak, you can send in your slide and Trijicon will replace just the tritium vials (I think it is $55.00 or so to do this). In my experience, all night sights for these guns have to be selected for elevation---mainly the front sight. My regular factory sights were all more-or-less correct, but except for the CS45, all of the night sights I ordered had severe elevation problems and S&W didn't have different height sights to fix it. I initially called Novak about this and even they didn't have the ones I needed. They suggested Trijicon (a supplier to S&W) and I was very happy to find that they had them and were able to correct the problem just based on my description of how far off the gun was shooting. I only sent in the slides and my description---it was really amazing how well they did without actually shooting the guns. I had already adjusted them perfectly for windage myself, but the devil is in the elevation and they got it perfect on the two CSs & the LS. And the 3913 was close enough. I also have a 3914 and a 3913TSW with regular factory sights---they both shoot perfectly to point of aim and I intend to leave them "as-is" without night sights. The regular Novaks are a very bright white and not at all bad as they are and when I was talking to the fellow over there (an extremely nice guy, BTW),he said they use porcelain tub & counter patch (like they sell at Ace Hardware) to fill the dots on their sights. I dug out the green stuff on two of my CZs and filled the holes with porcelain patch---it was a big improvement. Just use a pin and a toothpick, or some such. So, bottom line for me has been that S&W, Trijicon and Novak are all first-rate places to deal with.

...oh, and another thing. The Trijicons are very robust and shock-proof. I was certain that I'd damaged the vials with all the pounding and hammering I did gettin' em on & adjusting 'em with a brass punch (remember to put a spot of BreakFree on the area you are hitting so the brass will rub off afterwards), but no problem! They have some sort of elastic shock-absorber that apparently really works---I blasted 'em repeatedly and they are all fine.

My Nightsights are very old & not Novaks
There very blocky looking & could be replaced as long as there the same height sights..
I'll have to measure mine up with the digi caliper & give Novak or Trijicon a call
Thanks for the Info 50Meter

+1 they are great, I broke a front sight for a HK 93, totaly my fault...told them as much, I bought the sites from someone(new) but I was not the original purchaser.......I sent my site in, they sent a new one in less than a week

I have been impressed by Trijicon so far--have two ACOGs. I understand they give very good service on those as well.

At least when I take them out in my Toyota I have confidence that two things in my life will work the way they are supposed to...
