I was expecting to eat alone Thanksgiving Day eating a turkey frozen dinner.
Unexpected I was invited to a Thanksgiving Party that is a three hour drive one way from my home. Home Cooking won over a frozen dinner so Thanksgiving Day I left early and drove to the party. I only knew the couple that invited me and of course I was the only single person present as everyone else were couples. Three big tables of food ! one table of before dinner nit nats, one table of real home cooking, and one table of desserts.
Yes, I made two trips to the three tables. After dinner cleanup consisted of wrapping the leftovers up. The plates, cups/glasses and silverware which I thought were real turned out to be disposables, so everything went in the garbage. The drive home took more than three hours as I was not in a hurry.
I thought it was very kind and thoughtful for this couple to remember a single guy on a Holiday.

I can add another 20 to 2020. For the past twenty years we have gone to my youngest daughter's for a family Thanksgiving. Yesterday the wife and I ate lunch from Burger King. My oldest daughter brought us plates so we had ham and turkey and all the fixings for supper last night. I shouldn't complain with so many people having a hard time putting food on the table. I really miss seeing the kids, grand kids and great grandkids.

I'm happy you had a great day jimmyj.
We had 6 people at our house for Thanksgiving. Me and my wife G were the only ones that are married. Two unmarried women, one divorced female and 1 widowed female. All are family and a good time was had by all.
