CH47gunner
US Veteran
Long time partner in crime, best friend, & ol' Army buddy of mine and I joined the Viet Nam Helicopter Crewmember Association a few years ago.
Matt & I weren't in RVN together - we met in Germany, after our RVN tour, where we were with the 421st Medivac Company, 7th Medical Brigade.
First reunion I went to, in Phoenix, I was able to have a few cocktails with guys I had flown with 40 years ago. I don't have to tell you how close we were and how good it was to see those who had survived all those years.
I consider myself extremely lucky to have experienced the sounds of the blades, the smells of burning JP-4 & hydraulic fluid, and the rush of entering and exiting a tough LZ.
Bruce
My buddy Mathew Casey, Crewchief extrordinaire, with the 129th AHC (Bulldogs), 1st Avn. Bgd., and his choice of personal sidearm, M79 grenade launcher.
